Does the interview run before Stripe processes the cancel, or after? If someone accepts a pause, I don't want to be un-cancelling subscriptions by hand.

Parting in about a minute. Sound on.
The video and screenshots are design previews of the product we’re building.
When someone cancels your SaaS, you get one chance to ask why. Most of us spend it on a dropdown: “Too expensive”, “Missing features”, “Other”. Those answers are close to useless. Too expensive compared to what? Which feature? Parting replaces the dropdown with a 60-second interview that adapts to the answer. Pick “too expensive” and it asks what they’re moving to. Type “missing integrations” and it asks which one, and what they use instead. Customers can type or leave a short voice note, and a “Skip and cancel” link is always one click away. Nothing stands between a customer and the cancel button. Every answer is tagged, grouped with similar ones and priced by the MRR that left with it. Each Monday you get a one-page brief in Slack or email: the three reasons that cost you the most last week, in your customers’ own words. When a reason has a fair fix, like a pause for “seasonal” or a downgrade for “using it less”, Parting offers it. It never throws a discount at someone just to slow them down.
What founding backers get
The Founder plan for life: up to 500 completed interviews a month, unlimited team seats, every billing integration (Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Chargebee), Slack and email briefs, CSV export and the API. Future price $39/month.

This startup is still building. Timelines can slip, and the product may change from what's described here. “Lifetime” means for as long as the founder offers the product. You can request a refund within 30 days of purchase, minus the card processing fee. After 30 days, refunds aren't available, whether or not the product ships.
There are only 100. Each seat is a public lifetime license. Open one to see who holds it and who held it before.

Before. The widget sits between your cancel button and the Stripe call, so nothing is cancelled until they finish or skip. If they take the pause, Parting pauses collection through the Stripe API instead, and your app never sees a cancellation. If they close the tab halfway through, nothing happens, same as today.
GDPR question. Where do the voice notes live, and can I have them deleted once they're transcribed? We're an EU company and our DPO will ask before anything else.
EU workspaces are stored in Frankfurt. Each workspace has a retention setting for audio: 0, 30 or 90 days. At 0 the audio is deleted right after transcription and only the text is kept. We sign a DPA and the subprocessor list is in the docs. Happy to send both to your DPO before you back.
0 days is exactly what we need. Backed.
Honest question: how do you avoid annoying people who just want out? Our cancel flow is one click and I'm proud of that.
Same here. The first screen has a "Skip and cancel" link that's as visible as the question, and it's one click. Across the beta, 59% of people skip, and that's fine. We'd rather get 41% honest answers than force 100% bad ones. You can also switch off offers entirely and use Parting only to listen.
A 59% skip rate is a refreshingly honest number to post in a reply. In.
Does it work for B2B where the person cancelling isn't the decision maker? Often an office manager clicks the button and the real reason sits with their boss.
Yes, and it was the biggest lesson from my old job. Set an account-owner field in your Stripe customer metadata. If someone else cancels, Parting asks them the short version and emails the owner a two-question version two days later. Owner answers are tagged so you can filter on them.
How is the clustering done? I'm wary of an LLM inventing themes that aren't really there.
Fair worry. Answers are embedded and grouped by similarity first, then a model names each group from its quotes. Every theme links to all of its quotes, so you can check it. You can merge, split or rename themes, and new answers follow your edits.
Can I get the raw answers out? I want them in our Notion research database.
CSV export and the REST API are both in the Founder plan. There's also a webhook for every completed interview, which is the easiest route into Notion through Make or Zapier. A native Notion sync is on the list, but I'm not promising it for January.
+1 for the webhook. I've had it posting into a Slack channel for two weeks in the beta. Watching the quotes land in real time is uncomfortable in a useful way.
What counts toward the 500 interviews a month? Skips too?
Only completed interviews. Skips, abandoned tabs and test events don't count. If you go over, nothing breaks. Extra interviews are still saved, and the Monday brief tells you that you went over.
To be sure: $49 once and the Founder plan forever, including integrations you add later?
Yes. One payment, the Founder plan for life, including every billing integration we add. The only thing outside it is a future enterprise tier (SSO and an audit log) that a team your size is unlikely to need.
